Life     Journeys

  • Podcast

As I attempt to figure out how to design and format this blog, I'll leave the following word about why I am doing the podcast, "Life Journeys."

Life Journeys is about exactly that - the pathway that I have walked, hopefully in such a way that you won't be able to understand me except by the fact that God is alive! I need a savior, and, as with everyone, followed some kind of a god everyday of my existence. When I was born again, Jesus became my savior and also my God. This life has been filled with events that revealed more and more to me about who God is and how He works in a person's life. The stories in Life Journeys are examples of how the Word of God has been applied to my life. I've made application, often poorly, but steadily for over 40 years. It is my prayer that these stories about my life journey will help others to not only follow God, but to also develop a time line to write their own life journey of discipleship.

The main element of this journal of events is based upon learning and applying faith in life's hard moments. Just about everything in scripture is penned upon a parchment of life problems. It seems God's way of revealing himself to us. It's more than classroom learning or sitting in the church's pews. It is about walking along the day and finding God's help. "This is how this Bible truth worked itself out in my life."

Our life is created by God with the purpose of being a witness to the fact that God exists. Isaiah told Israel this just before they went into 70 years of captivity in Babylon because they were unfaithful to God for too long. He wanted to encourage them that they were still God's people with a chosen calling to reveal to the world that He is alive and is all that He claims to be. "YOU will show God to the world by witnessing My works, often in your hard times. They will see in you as I work to help you that there is a God! By this, you will only be understood by the fact that I exist."

10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. 12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God. Isaiah 43:10-12
